A Little About Us ...
K.E.E.P. Inc.'s History & Philosophy

K.E.E.P., Inc. (Kids Educational Enrichment Program) cares for children from all walks of life throughout Sussex County. Formerly the YWCA, K.E.E.P. has been offering child care for over 85 years. We have experienced many changes over the years that have all contributed positively to who we are today.

Today, K.E.E.P. has very basic principles including, but not limited to:

  • K.E.E.P. continues to create and enhance their programming in their effort to serve every child in need of care, companionship, and guidance in their growing years
  • K.E.E.P. provides full and part-time schedules to accommodate the needs of all of the community
  • K.E.E.P. provides unlimited financial aid to those families who qualify
  • K.E.E.P. pledges to continue in their effort to identify partnerships with Sussex County businesses to further enhance this county's commitment to its youth

K.E.E.P.'s Board of Directors and Staff are extraordinarily committed to achieving what is best for the children in our community. This is demonstrated day in and day out in our programs, but our real success lies in our community. The support provided from corporations and businesses within our community is remarkable. They assist us in our fund raising efforts and they assist us programmatically.

K.E.E.P., Inc. is unique and we make a difference!!

  • K.E.E.P.'s Directors share degrees and experience in Education, Community Leadership and Development, Pre-Med, Psychology, Professional Studies, Management and more. Between them, they have over 65 years of professional experience in teaching and non-profit management.
  • K.E.E.P. provides flexible scheduling options in all of its programs.
  • K.E.E.P. specializes in providing a nurturing environment with small groups of children.
  • Every child receives specialized, individual attention.
  • Group activities are specifically designed to meet the developmental needs of each child.
  • K.E.E.P.'s mission is to meet the needs of children and families in Sussex County. This includes the provision of unlimited financial aid as well as the integration of special needs children into all of our programs.
  • K.E.E.P. provides complete childcare services for children of all ages from 6 weeks through 12 years.

For school-aged children, Project K.E.E.P. is available with sites in your child's school, so no transportation is required. Project K.E.E.P. is offered in Andover, Fredon, Hamburg, Hampton-McKeown, Lafayette, Ogdensburg, Sandyston, Sparta, Stanhope, Stillwater, and Vernon.  An all-new NJ AFter 3 program is being instituted in the Walnut Ridge School in Vernon where 200 children will receive after-school care for a mere $75/month (73 cents per hour!) in the 2007-2008 school year.

Each day the children participate in structured and unstructured recreational games, homework time, snack, arts and crafts, free play, special projects and more! Project K.E.E.P. provides a specialized conflict resolution program, Adventures in Peacemaking, in all of its sites. The morning program begins at 7:00 am and continues until the start of school. The afternoon program starts at school dismissal and continues until 6:00 pm.

Along with Project K.E.E.P., K.E.E.P., Inc. also operates Summer K.E.E.P., which combines traditional daycamp activities with special themes and field trips. A variety of schedules is available to accommodate the needs of every family. A child may be signed up from one single day to full-time attendance. Rates for all programs are reasonable and financial assistance is available to qualified applicants. And don't forget!  Swimming everyday so long as it is nice out!

And, we must introduce you to our all new L'il Keepers!  We will be serving children from 6 weeks old to 6 years old in our all-new state-of-the-art facility...come on by and see it!

FACT: K.E.E.P. has been "highlighted" as representing the integrity of the infrastructure of Sussex County largely due to our extensive and flexible programming!

K.E.E.P., Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing affordable, quality child care to meet the various needs of individual families. As the largest child care provider in Sussex County, it offers a variety of programs that serve children between the ages of six weeks and twelve years old.
